About Fun Socks Fridays
About The Founder Tyrone Hill
Tyrone Hill, Founder and CEO of Fun Socks Fridays, brings a unique set of qualifications to community engagement and social entrepreneurship. Known in the East Coast world of competitive basketball as Redz The Manchild, Hill spent his childhood and adolescence in Pennsylvania’s foster care system. As a successful athlete, he acquired character-building assets of self-discipline, determination, positivity, and teamwork, as well as a passion for supporting others—especially those whose family structures could not provide them with the tools they need for success. As someone who understands the mental, physical, academic, and social realities of being in foster care, Hill brings real-world insights into designing programs to encourage and empower people to celebrate and share joy. Combining his understanding of the challenges faced by growing up in the system with the life lessons he’s learned as an elite athlete and parent, he can identify needs. And through working in the compassionate setting of a pediatric hospital, he has expanded his understanding of trauma. Through engaging and heartwarming initiatives, Fun Socks Fridays offers a way to foster a sense of community and solidarity. It celebrates diversity and individuality, and carries a profound message of love, happiness, and togetherness, through the simple gesture of wearing fun and colorful socks every Friday. This initiative is a form of social education that Hill wishes he’d had—guidance and support that go beyond what traditional structures can provide, encouraging people of all ages to find joy in small things and create brighter futures together.

Our mission is to cultivate a global community that embraces diversity, fosters inclusivity, and spreads happiness through the simple act of wearing fun and colorful socks. We aim to inspire individuals to perform small acts of kindness that can lead to significant societal impacts, supporting a culture of joy and connectedness that transcends traditional boundaries.
